Sometimes, something unexpected and very cool happens. Like a few weeks ago, when Nikon Netherlands sent us an email. They had visited our blog and had seen a photo of ours that they would really like to use in their new Nikon campaign. Huh?

Their newest Coolpix camera will be introduced this winter, the Nikon Coolpix S6200. The slogans they will use are ‘I AM THE DAY OF MY LIFE’ and ‘I AM A YES’. With one of our wedding photos! I can act totally cool about this, but the truth is that something like this doesn’t happen every day and I think it’s pretty darn awesome that Nikon is using our photo. The campaign went live yesterday, and the banners and posters will be up in over 350 retail stores all throughout the Netherlands. With our wedding photo of bride Esther on the carrier bike. So when we were in Hoorn yesterday, I made Marco walk by the local photostore, Coenstad. I was so excited to see a real Sassen & Verstraaten in their windows!

Dubai. A very special country. Or rather, a very special emirate. With scorching sun and fresh white snow. The most luxurious malls and the cutest little souks. Star restaurants and falafel-on-the-corner. Women dressed all black and men in white robes. The most expensive racehorses and the fastest camels. Manmade islands in the sea and vast areas of desert on the other side. My parents and us spent a week basking in the sun, enjoying a sumptuous life and being amazed by this awesome destination. It was superb and great and unique and I would go back in a heartbeat. I’ll share more photos from our trip soon, but this race camel with a mind of his own will have to do for now.
