When I left the Netherlands to go to school in the United States, Jan and Gary took me into their home. I had an amazing time in the US and a large part of that was due to these wonderful people. We have always kept in touch ever since – vistis in the US and in Holland, email, internet. And last weekend, they were in Paris, visiting their good friends Cassy and Sid, a very nice American couple who recently moved to Paris for their jobs. And that’s how Marco and I happened to be in Paris last weekend. We strolled, we shopped, we ate, we drank, we sang and we laughed. It was so good to see old friends and to meet new friends. What an amazing weekend get-away!
